Daniel Merritt

Pastor Daniel Ray Merritt Sr. departed this life on November 2, 2023, at Northeast Georgia
Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga. He was born on May 16, 1952, in Franklin County, Ga. He was
married to Joann Merritt for 44 years, and to this union, 2 children were born, a daughter,
Angela Merritt, and a son, Daniel Merritt Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lucille Merritt; 2 sisters, Martha and
Mamie McElveen; and a brother, Jean Merritt.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Joann; Children, Angela Merritt, of Martin, GA, and a
son, Daniel Merritt Jr., of Flowery Branch; daughter-in-law, Whitney Merritt; 4 grandsons, Isaiah
Merritt, Makael Merritt, Daniel Ray Merritt III, and Noah Merritt; and 1 great-grandson, Kyrie
Merritt; sisters, Sandra (Steve) Pittman, of Carnesville, GA, Rebecca Merritt, Brenda Carter, of
Martin, GA; Brothers, Eddie Roy (Myra) Merritt, of Hartwell, GA, Anthony Merritt of Arizona,
Dennis (Mindy) Merritt, of Martin, GA, Raymond (Ada) Merritt, of Martin, GA, Herchel (Ruth)
Merritt, of Martin, GA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pastor Merritt was loved by everyone he met and will truly be missed by so many.
