Mr. David Sherman was born June 13, 1945 in Toccoa, GA to the late J.P.
Sherman, Sr. and Sallie Mae Sherman. He entered into eternal life December
17, 2022.
He graduated from Whitman Street school in 1963, then enlisted into the United
States Army in 1963. While serving his country, he became a member of the
Special Forces as a Green Beret and Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne
Division. He was also a war veteran, as part of the Vietnam War Tet Offense.
Mr. Sherman was united in holy matrimony to the late Robbie J. Sherman on
September 8, 1968. They were married 49 years and from that union they were
blessed with 2 daughters. David retired from the United States Army ,as a Master
Sergeant in 1985.
Mr. David Sherman was preceded in death by his siblings:
Ed Sherman (Clara), Louise Sherman, J.P. Sherman, Jr, (Ann), Ralph
Sherman, Shirley Louise Williams, Mary Alice Warren (Doug), Roger Sherman,
Sandra Sherman, and Sister-in-law, Wendell Sherman.
He leaves to mourn: His brother, Randolph Sherman
His daughters, Leatricia Bailey (Berderius), Sondra Sherman (Joseph), Kendra
Sherman Jones (William).
He leaves to cherish his memories of wisdom and laughter to his beloved
grandchildren: Raderius Bailey (Brandale), Cerron Bailey (Serena), Mikiala I. Mays,
J.C. Crawford (Mar'leesia), Mikael Mays, and Zondria Barmore. Great
grandchildren: Ayden Bailey, Myles Bailey, Reese Bailey, and Ryan Bailey. Also a
host of nieces and nephews who lovingly called him "Uncle D".
And Brother in law, Henry Williams.
David was a man who loved his family. He would often say, " I am proud to be a
Sherman". He was resilient, a protector,a provider, an encourager, a giver, the
one who was known for getting the job done, his larger than life smile, a fantastic
Papa and a wonderful " Girl Dad".
