Horace R. Swift

Horace Richard Swift was called home on Sunday, December 18, 2022. He was born in Toccoa, GA on May 7, 1950. He was the son of the late Jesse and Pheoby Swift. He was a member of Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church. Horace worked at Wa bco and Vermont American for many years of his career. Horace was a man of many talents as he had his own landscaping company, was a neighborhood barber, and even a butcher. Horace retired from Stephens County Hospital where he served on the grounds crew.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Pete Swift (Stephany), one daughter Nicole “Nicky” Swift, two grandsons, David Swift and Matthew Swift. He leaves three sisters, Betty Gober, Jeraldine Hayes, and Judy Poole (Anthony). He also leaves a special friend, Polly Dorsey. He was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry Swift, Lieutenant Swift, Hoyt Swift, and sisters May Carter Mayfield, Magnolia Swift, and Liza Gholston. He also leaves a hosts of nieces and nephews.
