Virginia Scott

We give thanks to God our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for blessing us with a Godly Wife and Mother.

The gates of heaven opened up February 7, 2023 and Virginia Helimenia Oglesby Scott climbed the stairway to heaven.

Virginia Oglesby Scott was born August 12, 1930 to the late Willie H. and Annie L. Oglesby and was raised in Martin, Georgia.  She was the oldest of 4 children and a lifelong member from an early age of Hurricane Grove Baptist Church.

Virginia and Jesse, who preceded her in death, were married in 1948 and to this union they were blessed with the birth of daughter, Sandra L. Scott Moore.

She was a loving and kind mother, who was dedicated to her husband, daughter, grandchildren & her home. Virginia was an active member of Hurricane Grove Baptist Church and loved cooking her renowned pound cakes.

She is survived by one sister, Agnes Oglesby; Toccoa and brother, Walter A. Oglesby (Novella) of Maryland. Sister-in law; Ruth Henderson, Seneca S.C., 2 grandsons; Kenneth Scott Moore and Jesse Jahiem Scott Moore, Frank Brown, Shawn Hardman and Gracie Beverly Murray, raised in the home, Aunt Lizzie B. Burton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives & friends.

Our undying gratitude to Nick Brock for all the special care, love and attention that Virginia was constantly showered with. Also heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Betty Scott Brown, Renee Parrott-Mayfield, Dr. McDonald & Staff, and Amedisys Team: Dr. Cohn, Janna King, Kellie Savage, Tim Miller, David Souderes, Jessica Sheriff, Angie Adams, Natalie Henson and Cliff Whitworth
